Future mobile-service information
Device compatibility
This page will become CreekCo's controlled compatibility register for any future mobile service. It currently describes the qualification process and known categories of risk; it does not approve any device for CreekCo service.
Approved device list
| Device category | Current CreekCo status |
|---|---|
| CreekCo-supplied devices | No devices announced |
| Bring-your-own devices | No models approved |
| Imported or international variants | Not approved; elevated compatibility risk |
| Tablets, watches, hotspots and IoT equipment | No models or service profiles approved |
| Emergency-alert compatibility | Not established for any CreekCo service |
Status last reviewed August 1, 2026. Future entries must identify the exact model, Canadian variant, firmware, carrier configuration, network and effective date.
What future compatibility will depend on
- The exact device model and regional hardware variant.
- Supported Canadian radio bands and the approved host network.
- Current operating-system, modem-firmware and security updates.
- The carrier bundle, access-point settings and SIM or eSIM profile.
- Voice over LTE, Wi-Fi calling, messaging, data, hotspot and roaming support.
- Canadian Wireless Public Alerting behaviour, including the alert tone, vibration, bilingual presentation and geographic delivery.
- Accessibility functions and compatibility with assistive technology.
Bring-your-own and imported devices
Devices purchased outside Canada, imported variants, devices obtained directly from a manufacturer, modified firmware and some bring-your-own devices may not follow Canadian public-alerting standards or carrier requirements. Similar product names can refer to materially different hardware or software variants.
CreekCo will not approve a device family by brand name alone. Future compatibility records will identify exact model numbers, variants, software versions and tested network profiles.
Wireless public alert behaviour
Compatible devices must be connected to an LTE or newer cellular network to receive Canadian wireless public alerts. Devices can respond differently to alert volume, vibration, silent mode, Do Not Disturb, Bluetooth accessories and active calls. Airplane mode disables cellular reception, including wireless public alerts.
Read the Wireless Public Alerts page for CreekCo's current availability status and future alerting conditions.
Testing and approval process
Before a device is listed as supported, CreekCo expects to record the device model and variant, software and carrier configuration, SIM/eSIM profile, host network, test date and reviewer. Testing will cover registration, voice, messaging, data, emergency calling where applicable, Wireless Public Alerting, roaming, updates, recovery, accessibility and known limitations.
Approval will apply only to the documented combination. A later operating-system update, carrier-bundle change, network migration or material incident may require retesting or withdrawal of the compatibility statement.
Customer responsibilities after a future launch
- Confirm the exact device model and variant before activation.
- Install supported operating-system and security updates.
- Do not assume an unsupported or modified device will provide emergency calling or wireless public alerts.
- Keep an alternate means of receiving emergency information and contacting emergency services.
- Report material compatibility or accessibility problems promptly.
Questions and accessible formats
Compatibility questions may be sent to support@creekco.ca after CreekCo announces a supported service. Regulatory questions may be sent to regulatory@creekco.ca, and alternate-format requests to accessibility@creekco.ca. These mailboxes are not emergency dispatch channels.
