Emergency-alert information
Wireless public alerts
This page is being prepared for CreekCo's possible future Canadian mobile service. It explains the intended customer-information framework without representing that CreekCo currently provides mobile service or distributes emergency alerts.

How Canadian wireless alerts work
Emergency alerts are issued by authorized public authorities and distributed through Canada's National Public Alerting System. Compatible mobile devices that are turned on and connected to an LTE or newer cellular network in the selected alerting area may receive the message through a dedicated cell-broadcast channel.
The dedicated alert channel does not require a provider to send a separate text message to each telephone number, and location services do not need to be enabled for a compatible device to receive a geographically targeted alert.
Can customers opt out?
No. Canadian service providers are required to distribute alerts to compatible devices connected to an LTE or newer network in the affected area. Device settings may affect the sound, vibration or presentation on some models, but customers cannot opt out of the underlying emergency-alert distribution.
Conditions that may affect receipt
- The device must support Canadian Wireless Public Alerting.
- The device must be turned on and connected to a supported LTE or newer cellular network when the alert is sent.
- The device operating system, firmware and carrier configuration must remain compatible.
- Airplane mode, Wi-Fi-only operation, lack of cellular coverage, weak indoor reception, unsupported roaming arrangements or device incompatibility may prevent receipt.
- Imported, modified or bring-your-own devices may behave differently from Canadian carrier-supplied devices.
- Alert sounds, vibration and interaction with silent or Do Not Disturb settings vary by device.
Travel and roaming
A compatible device connected to an LTE or newer network may receive an alert for the Canadian area where the device is located. CreekCo will not represent roaming or partner-network alert delivery as supported until the responsible host or roaming carrier has supplied written responsibility information and successful service-specific test evidence.
Future CreekCo launch requirements
Before CreekCo describes a mobile service as supporting wireless public alerts, it will require written identification of the Carrier of Record and host networks, responsibility for NAAD intake and cell broadcast, supported plans and geographies, device and carrier-bundle qualification, bilingual and geographic testing, outage escalation, customer support, and evidence retention.
CreekCo will publish the exact supported service scope, compatibility limitations and effective date only after those matters have been approved in writing. A host carrier's general marketing statement or a successful isolated test will not establish CreekCo service support.
Emergency guidance
Wireless public alerts are warnings, not a substitute for calling emergency services. In an emergency, call 9-1-1 using a working service and follow instructions from public authorities. CreekCo's separate VoIP 9-1-1 notice explains current pre-launch emergency-calling restrictions.
Questions and accessible formats
Public-alerting and regulatory questions may be sent to regulatory@creekco.ca. Device questions may be sent to support@creekco.ca after a supported service is announced. Alternate-format requests and accessibility feedback may be sent to accessibility@creekco.ca. These mailboxes are not emergency dispatch channels.
